Common mistakes
- 1Initialising the Snowplow tracker before consent is obtained, which sends events immediately
- 2Assuming self-hosted data collection eliminates all compliance obligations — consent is still required
- 3Not configuring anonymous tracking mode for users who have not consented
Compliance considerations
Data is sent to your own data warehouse infrastructure, providing full data ownership and control over storage location. The compliance posture depends on your infrastructure choices — self-hosted collection and EU-based data warehousing can eliminate international transfer concerns. Analytics consent is still required for behavioural tracking. Configure the tracker to respect consent state before sending events.
